Via this year-round open call, we invite art projects and artefacts, inspired by the Moon and human exploration.
Our goal is to promote the development of human and cultural purposes within the mission objectives of spaceflight organisations. To prepare for the new wave of space colonisation, exploration and even migration we have to think how to feel and “be alive” in space instead of simply surviving. What would be our new values and ideals, aesthetics in space including lessons learnt on Earth? How for example sculpture would work in 1/6th gravity? And how our bodies and perception of beauty will change (while our bodies adapt to new conditions)? How would we perceive colours without the atmosphere? Which new art forms will sprout?
This year-round open call aims to collect ideas, poetic ephemera, artefacts within a miniature petridish like gallery to be sent to the Moon in 2025, where new art forms can develop and grow.
We ask our participants to think big but small! Each idea has to fit within just 1 cubic cm.
We very much look forward to seeing your ideas! This year-round submission programme has three application deadlines a year. Closing dates: 22 January, 27 May, 23 September. For any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us via Email or Facebook.
Please send your CV, portrait and additional visual materials (images, videos, 3D models) along with the application form via WeTransfer to art@moongallery.eu
