Space Art Meet-up w/ Moon Gallery & NVR

Moon Gallery Foundation and NVR are hosting a joint event at A-Lab in Amsterdam. Together, we’ll discuss the future of space art and culture, get a special preview of the Moon Gallery AiR program in progress, and we’ll end with a Space Art awards ceremony held by NVR. ABOUT MOON GALLERY AIR PROGRAM 

The Essence of Home is a space art residency programme developed by the Moon Gallery Foundation to offer a unique platform for artists and curators who fled from Ukraine. The art residency provides a part-time program for research, experimentation, and creative advancement, while in parallel dedicating space and time for the residents to integrate into the Dutch socio-cultural scene. During the residency, artists engage in stimulating activities such as lectures, workshops, and other opportunities provided by partnering institutions to inform and inspire their creative process and eventually, develop an artwork to be sent to the Moon as a part of our upcoming payload scheduled to launch in 2025.

ABOUT NVR 

Netherlands Space Society is a vibrant community that connects space enthusiasts and professionals, and takes the Netherlands closer to space. In 2021, they celebrated their 70th anniversary. As part of the celebrations, a Space Art Competition was organised with the aim to inspire and inform Dutch communities on the topic of space through art.
